Sunroof Squeaks When Driving Over Rough Roads (Lubricate Sunroof Seal)
MODELS AFFECTED:

1996 Saturn S-Series Sedans equipped with sunroofs (RPO CF5)

1997 - 2001 Saturn S-Series Coupes and Sedans equipped with sunroofs (RPO CF5)
CONDITION:
Some customers may comment about a squeak or rubbing type noise coming from the sunroof area when driving over rough roads. This condition may
be worse with the sunshade in the full open position.
CAUSE:
The squeak or rubbing noise may be caused by the sunroof seal rubbing against the paint in the roof opening.
CORRECTION:
Lubricate the sunroof seal using the procedure outlined in this bulletin.
PROCEDURE:
1.
Open sunroof sunshade to the full open position.
2.
Verify noise is coming from sunroof seal by pushing up and down at rear of sunroof glass from inside vehicle.

If noise is coming from sunroof seal, proceed to next step.

If noise is not coming from sunroof seal, refer to the appropriate service manual for further diagnosis.
3.
Partially open sunroof glass to the vent position.
4.
Clean sunroof seal with window cleaner, or equivalent, and allow to dry.
