Air Bag Control Module: Service and Repair
Frontal SIR System Install or Connect
INSTALLATION
NOTICE: The Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM) bolts provide ground for the SIR system. If any of the four sheet metal holes, SDM holes or bolt
threads get damaged, use replacement bolt, part number 21022036. DO NOT use Loctite@ 242 Threadlocker, or equivalent material, on the bolts
because it will insulate the ground path.
1. Install SDM and bolts to vehicle.
IMPORTANT: Make sure SDM is oriented with the arrow facing forward.
Torque: 15 N.m (133.5 in.lbs.)
2. Connect electrical connector and install Connector Position Assurance (CPA) device.
3. Place shifter in neutral.
4. Lower front of console over shifter.
5. Lower rear of console over parking brake lever on to rear mounting pad.
IMPORTANT: Make sure to place window/mirror and ashtray light connectors through openings into position.
6. Move console rearward.
