PURPOSE:
The piston ring installation information on page ENEM 230 of the 1991-1994 Engine Mechanical Service Manual is not clear. Refer to the piston ring
installation information on the following page to help clarify the installation of piston rings on both the SOHC (LKO) and DOHC (LLO) engines.
IMPORTANT:
These service procedures will not be included in the 1991 - 1994 Engine Mechanical Service Manual since it has already been printed. Included with
this bulletin is a sticker that can be placed on page ENEM 230 of the 1991-1994 Engine Mechanical Service Manual, according to the illustration.
PROCEDURES

Using a piston ring expander, install the piston compression rings.
DOHC (LLO) Engines - The first (top) compression ring is installed with the PIP mark facing upward. The second compression ring (identified
