Refrigerant Oil: Service and Repair
New Compressor Installed Oil Charge
IMPORTANT: Service compressors are charged with 200 cc of SATURN refrigerant oil.
1. With the compressor low and high side ports in an upright position, remove the high side cap retaining bolt slowly to release the nitrogen (N2)
charge from the compressor. Remove high and low side caps.
IMPORTANT: Take care not to let the oil escape.
2. Install the caps on removed compressor.
3. Install oil drain adapters on low and high side ports.
4. Drain compressor as described in step 3 of Compressor Oil Measurement (removed compressor). There will be at least 150 cc or more of oil that
can be drained from the new compressor that has been charged with 200 cc.
IMPORTANT: Oil drained from the new compressor can be installed if drained into a clean container.
5. Add the recorded amount of oil drained from the removed compressor also add the amount of oil lost during recovery. This will keep the same
amount of oil in the A/C system.
