Temperature Warning Lamp/Indicator: Description and Operation
Low Coolant/Hot Telltale Lamp
PCM Wiring.
PURPOSE
The Hot Telltale is used by the PCM to indicate to the operator of the vehicle a possible engine overheat condition.
OPERATION
If the PCM determines from signals received from the coolant temperature sensor that the engine is running too hot, it will turn on the coolant
temperature telltale lamp by supplying a ground. The hot telltale lamp is also used when there is a transaxle overheat condition.
For 1993 and 1994, the SHIFT TO D2 lamp was eliminated. The low coolant hot lamp will flash diagnostic trouble codes the same way as
described above under "Shift to D2 Indicator Lamp". See: Shift Indicator/Description and Operation
LOCATION
The indicator light is located in the instrument panel cluster.
