Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Crankshaft Position Sensor.

CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR (CPS) REMOVAL

1.

Disconnect negative battery cable.

2.

Jack or raise vehicle.

3.

Disconnect electrical connector from CPS.

4.

Remove attachment bolt and CPS.

INSTALLATION

1.

Lubricate O-ring with clean engine oil.

2.

Install CPS in engine block.

3.

Install CPS attachment bolt.

^ Torque:  9 Nm (80 in lbs)

4.

Connect electrical connector to the CPS. Push in until a click is heard and pull back to confirm a positive engagement.
