Fuel Level Sending Unit: Service and Repair

Removal Of Fuel Pump/sender Module.

Fuel Module Location.

PRECAUTIONS

WARNING:  Do not allow smoking or the use of open flames in the area where work on the fuel system is taking place. Anytime the fuel
system is being worked on, disconnect the negative battery cable, except for those tests where battery voltage is required.

CAUTION:  Clean all fuel pipe and hose connections and surrounding areas before disassembling to avoid possible contamination of the fuel
system. Spray the fuel pump module cam lock ring tangs with penetrating oil prior to attempting removal.

NOTE:  For removal of the fuel sender from the Module assembly, refer to FUEL TANK SENDER REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES.
