Wheel Cylinder: Service and Repair

Removal

1. Disconnect brake hose at wheel cylinder.
2. Disassembly rear drum brake assembly.
3. Remove bleeder valve and cap.
4. Remove wheel cylinder retaining fasteners and remove cylinder.

Installation

1. Install new wheel cylinder onto backing plate with fasteners. Torque to 10 Nm (89 in. lbs.).
2. Connect brake hose with NEW washers onto wheel cylinder. Torque to 49 Nm (36 ft. lbs.).
3. Install bleeder valve and cap. Torque to 7.5 Nm (66 in. lbs.).
4. Completely assemble rear drum brake assembly.
5. Bleed brakes.
