3. Hold each camshaft in place using a 21 mm or 7/8 inch open end wrench and carefully remove the camshaft timing sprocket retaining bolts and
washers.
NOTE: Set the front angled support fixture (refer to step 5) in place before installing the sprocket adaptor(s).
4. Attach the camshaft sprocket adapter(s) to the end of each camshaft. Do not tighten the pilot bolts.
a. Use the sprocket pilot provided to locate the sprocket adapter squarely on the end of each camshaft.
b. Remove the upper timing chain guide and both front camshaft bearing caps.
CAUTION: Do not torque down the sprocket pilot bolts until the front support fixture is installed. The sprocket support bolts must be left loose
to align the holes, sprocket adapter, and front angled fixture. The bolts installed through these holes are used to firmly hold the camshaft sprockets
in place when the sprocket pilot is removed.
