Manual Shift Shaft Assembly Replacement

REMOVAL

1. Remove the valve body cover and control valve body assembly according to the "Control Valve body Assembly Removal."

NOTICE:  If manual shift shaft is rotated excessively, internal damage to the park/neutral position switch may occur.

2. Prevent the manual shift shaft from rotating by holding control lever.

3. Remove the manual shift shaft assembly inner nut, manual valve link, park pawl lever, and manual detent lever.

IMPORTANT:  When removing the inner nut, take care not to drop the nut into the transaxle by placing a rag under the nut to catch it, if it is
accidently dropped.

4. Remove the two park/neutral position switch bolts and disconnect the electrical connectors.
5. Slide the park/neutral position switch and the manual shift shaft assembly out of the transaxle case.
