Transmission Speed Sensor: Service and Repair
Input Speed Sensor Replacement
Input Speed Sensor Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Disconnect the wiring harness from the input speed sensor.
3. Important: Do not damage the input speed sensor or transaxle case.
Remove the input speed sensor bolt/screw.
4. Remove the input speed sensor, and the input speed sensor O-ring.
Installation Procedure
1. Apply automatic transmission fluid to the new input speed sensor O-ring seal.
2. Install the new input speed sensor O-ring seal onto the input speed sensor.
3. Install the input speed sensor into the transmission case assembly.
4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Install the input speed sensor bolt.

Tighten the input speed sensor bolt 12 Nm (87 inch lbs.).
5. Connect the wiring harness to the input speed sensor.
6. Lower the vehicle.
