7. On CVT equipped vehicles, remove the shift cable clip from the steering gear.
8. Remove the steering gear to cradle mounting bolts and nuts.
9. Rotate the stabilizer shaft to provide clearance for the gear to be removed.
Important: The power steering gear will need to be rotated while it is removed through the LH wheel opening.
10. Remove the power steering gear through the LH wheel opening.
Installation Procedure
Important: Ensure the stabilizer is positioned in the upmost position for gear clearance.
Important: The power steering gear will need to be rotated while it is installed through the LH wheel opening.
1. Position the power steering gear into the vehicle through the LH wheel opening. Make sure that the gear mount bushings are centered into the
cradle supports.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.
2. Install the steering gear to cradle mounting bolts and nuts.
Tighten the bolts to 110 N.m (81 lb ft).
3. On CVT equipped vehicles, install the shift cable clip to the steering gear.
