Using 2.5-4 N.m (2-3 lbs) of force, slide the brake stop lamp switch into the retainer until the switch plunger is fully depressed against the striker
plate on the pedal arm.
To avoid an over-adjusted brake stop lamp switch, do not move or touch the brake pedal arm during switch adjustment. An over-adjusted brake
stop lamp switch could produce brake drag.
Once the switch barrel is against the striker plate, twist the switch clockwise 60 degrees until the travel stop has been reached to lock it in place.
With the switch properly adjusted, there will be a 0.2-1.2 mm (0.008-0.47 in) clearance between the end of the switch barrel and the striker plate
on the pedal arm.
Cycle the brake pedal to ensure that the brake switch electrical connector is seated fully, and that the push rod clip remains seated fully.
Verify the operation of the brake stop lamp.
