3. For some of the retainers that may be more difficult to access or exhibit higher retention, use an appropriate tool to help disengage the retainer.
Note
The graphic above shows an example of an original length retainer (1) next to one which has been trimmed (2).
3. Trim 2.5-4 mm (0.10-0.16 in) off the length of all five sealing strip retainers.
4. Reinstall the rear side door window outer sealing strip:
1. Position the sealing strip to the window opening flange so that the front fastener location and all retaining tabs are aligned with the appropriate
holes in the door structure.
2. Starting at rear of the door, push the sealing strip down onto the opening flange until the retainers are fully seated.
3. Reinstall the screw retaining the front of the sealing strip to the door structure.
Important
Before reinstalling the rear side door window, inspect the exterior glass surface for any vertical scratches. Clean the glass with glass
cleaner and if scuffs or scratches are found, it may be necessary to replace the window.
5. Install the rear side door window. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Replacement, in SI.
