Windshield Washer Fluid Leak (Remove Flashing from Filler Tube 0-Rings)

Condition
Some customers may comment that the windshield washer fluid is leaking under the right, front corner of the vehicle. This condition will exist only when
the washer fluid container is full or nearly full.
Cause
Flashing in the windshield washer fluid filler tube 0-ring grooves provide a leak path for the washer fluid. The graphic shows the end section of the filler
tube (with the 0-rings removed), the 0-ring grooves (1), and the suspected flashing (2).
Correction
DO NOT REPLACE THE FILLER TUBE OR WASHER FLUID CONTAINER.
Remove the windshield washer fluid filler tube using the Windshield Washer Solvent Container Filler Tube Replacement procedure in SI. Remove the
0-rings from the filler tube and use a utility knife to remove the flashing in the 0-ring grooves. Lubricate the 0-rings with a silicone paste lubricant prior
to reinstalling them into the grooves.
