Note:  The connection shown is for an electronic power steering system. The connection at the steering column for the hydraulic power steering
system and for the two mode hybrid power steering system is serviced the same way.

8. Remove the steering shaft coupling bolt (1) at the steering column.

Discard the bolt.

9. Disconnect the steering shaft coupling from the steering column.

10. Remove the steering shaft coupling from inside the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

Note:  If you are replacing the steering shaft coupling, failure to copy the match marks may result in an off-center steering wheel. 

1. If you are replacing the steering shaft coupling, copy the match marks from the old steering shaft coupling to the new steering shaft coupling.
2. Position the steering shaft coupling under the steering column.
3. Align the match marks and connect the steering shaft coupling to the steering column.
