Introduction
Some 2008-2009 model year Scion xB vehicles may exhibit an intermittent condition where multiple Malfunction Indicator Lights (MIL) remain
illuminated after start up and the power steering system will enter the fail safe mode. The vehicle may return to normal after cycling the key.
The following DTCs will be stored in the EPS ECU:

U0100 - Lost Communication with ECM/PCM "A"
^
U0129 - Lost Communication with Brake System Control Module
The following DTCs may be stored in the VSC (ABS) system:
^
U0073 - Control Module Communication Bus OFF
^
U0123 - Lost Communication with Yaw Rate Sensor Module
^
U0124 - Lost Communication with Lateral Acceleration Sensor Module
^
U0126 - Lost Communication with Steering Angle Sensor Module
The EPS ECU software has been updated to prevent this condition. Replace the EPS ECU if DTCs U0100 and U0129 are stored in the EPS ECU.
