Removal

SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: SEAT POSITION SENSOR: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

CAUTION: Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag
system before servicing  See: Service Precautions.
HINT:  Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
The procedure described below is for the LH side. Use the same procedure for both the LH and RH sides, unless otherwise specified.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent airbag deployment.

2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Front Seat Assembly/Removal
3. REMOVE SEAT TRACK COVER See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Front Seat Assembly/Removal
4. REMOVE SEAT TRACK INNER BRACKET COVER See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Front Seat Assembly/Removal
5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Front Seat Assembly/Removal
6. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Front Seat Assembly/Disassembly
7. REMOVE VERTICAL ADJUSTER COVER (w/ Vertical Adjuster) See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Front Seat

8. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER KNOB (w/ Vertical Adjuster) See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Front Seat

9. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Front Seat Assembly/Disassembly

10. REMOVE SEAT SLIDE POSITION SENSOR PROTECTOR

(a) Remove the seat slide position sensor protector from the seat position airbag sensor.

11. REMOVE SEAT POSITION AIRBAG SENSOR

(a) Disconnect the connector from the seat position airbag sensor.
(b) Using "TORX" socket wrench T30, remove the torx screw and the seat position airbag sensor.
