Front Steering Knuckle: Service and Repair
Installation

AXLE: STEERING KNUCKLE: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

HINT:
-

Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

-

The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

1. INSTALL STEERING KNUCKLE

(a) Install the front disc brake dust cover onto the steering knuckle.

(b) Install the axle hub with the 4 bolts.

Torque: 96 Nm (979 kgf-cm, 71 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:  Do not place the hub and bearing's magnet rotor side so that it is facing downward, and do not allow the magnet rotor side to
become damaged or contact foreign matter.

2. INSTALL FRONT LOWER BALL JOINT ASSEMBLY See: Ball Joint/Service and Repair/Installation
3. INSTALL FRONT AXLE ASSEMBLY See: Wheel Hub/Service and Repair/Front Axle Hub/Installation
4. INSTALL FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Wheel Hub/Service and Repair/Front Axle Hub/Installation
5. INSTALL FRONT DISC See: Brakes and Traction Control/Disc Brake System/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front

6. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY See: Wheel Hub/Service and Repair/Front Axle Hub/Installation
7. INSTALL TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Steering/Steering Gear/Service and Repair/Installation
8. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB NUT See: Wheel Hub/Service and Repair/Front Axle Hub/Installation
9. SEPARATE FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY See: Wheel Hub/Service and Repair/Front Axle Hub/Removal

10. REMOVE FRONT DISC See: Brakes and Traction Control/Disc Brake System/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front

Brake/Removal

11. INSPECT FRONT AXLE HUB BEARING LOOSENESS See: Wheel Hub/Testing and Inspection/Front Axle Hub
12. INSPECT FRONT AXLE HUB RUNOUT See: Wheel Hub/Testing and Inspection/Front Axle Hub
13. INSTALL FRONT DISC See: Brakes and Traction Control/Disc Brake System/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front

Brake/Installation

14. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY See: Wheel Hub/Service and Repair/Front Axle Hub/Installation
15. INSTALL FRONT SPEED SENSOR See: Wheel Hub/Service and Repair/Front Axle Hub/Installation
16. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL

Torque: 103 Nm (1050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)

17. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT

(a) Inspect and adjust the front wheel alignment See: Alignment/Service and Repair/Front Wheel Alignment.

18. CHECK VSC SENSOR SIGNAL

 See: Brakes and Traction Control/Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems/Testing and Inspection/Component Tests and General Diagnostics/Check
for Intermittent Problems
