U241E AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE: DIFFERENTIAL OIL SEAL: REPLACEMENT

REPLACEMENT

1. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY

HINT:  See the steps from "DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID" through "FIX FRONT AXLE ASSEMBLY" ( See: Drive Axles,
Bearings and Joints/Axle Shaft Assembly/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal).

2. REMOVE DRIVE SHAFT BEARING BRACKET

(a) Remove the 3 bolts and remove the drive shaft bearing bracket.

3. REMOVE DIFFERENTIAL SIDE BEARING RETAINER OIL SEAL

(a) Using SST, remove the differential side bearing retainer oil seal.

SST: 09308-00010

4. REMOVE TRANSAXLE HOUSING OIL SEAL

(a) Using SST, remove the transaxle housing oil seal.

SST: 09308-00010

5. INSTALL TRANSAXLE HOUSING OIL SEAL

(a) Coat the lip of a new transaxle housing oil seal with MP grease.

(b) Using SST and a hammer, install the transaxle housing oil seal.
