  Note!
t  Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
t  In vehicles fitted with coded radio, first consult the anti-theft code.
t  Lubricate all bearings and contact surfaces with lubricating grease -G 052 142 A2-.
t  Before working on the pedals, dismount the map compartment on the driver's side → Body - interior assembly work; Rep. Gr.70.
1 - Mounting
q   Dismount the steering column to take the mounting off → Drive train; Rep. Gr.48
q   Remove the brake pedal from the main brake cylinder → Brake system; Rep. Gr.47
2 - Hexagonal screw, 25 Nm
3 - Self-locking hexagonal nut, 25 Nm
q   5 in all
q   For securing the mounting to the power-assisted brake system
4 - Support
5 - Hexagonal screw, 25 Nm
6 - Lock
q   Dismounting and assembly → Chapter
7 - Clutch and brake pedal axle
q   Assembly position: the bracket -arrow- must face the side of the clutch pedal
8 - Bearing sleeve
q   For housing the steering column
9 - Brake pedal
10 - Saddle
11 - Clutch pedal
q   Dismounting and assembly → Chapter
12 - Lock
q   Dismounting and assembly → Chapter
13 - Bracket
q   For the clutch cable
14 - Clamp
q   This secures the bracket to the compensation box
15 - Clutch cable
q   Automatic reset
q   Assign according to the Replacement Parts Microfiche
q   Checking its operation
q   Dismounting and assembly → Chapter
16 - Clutch cable
q   Non-automatic reset
q   Assign according to the Replacement Parts Microfiche
q   Dismounting and assembly → Chapter
q   Adjusting → Chapter
17 - Adjusting nut for the clutch cable
q   Tighten the lock nut after having made the adjustment
18 - Return spring
q   This should not be attached if an automatic clutch cable is fitted
19 - Hood
q   This fits into the dashboard
