Dismounting
Dismounting
–  Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
  Note!
In vehicles fitted with a coded radio, first consult the anti-theft code.
   
–  For the dismounting and assembly of the automatic clutch cable, the automatic reset mechanism should be compressed with the tightening strap shown in the diagram.
  Note!
This tightening strap is used with new clutch cables to tauten the automatic reset mechanism.
  V30-0348
–  Cut the eyelet -arrow- of the tightening strap.
–  Hook the eyelet of the tightening strap over the protective hood of the automatic reset mechanism.
–  Press the clutch pedal down to the limit at least 5 times.

–  Move the clutch release lever approximately 10 mm. in the opposite direction to which it works. The clutch release lever should move freely.
  Note!
In this way, the automatic reset mechanism of the clutch cable becomes taut.

–  With the help of another mechanic, attach the two ends of the tightening strap over the two hooks -arrows- of the automatic reset mechanism.
–  Dismount the bottom part of the instrument panel map compartment on the driver's side → Body - interior assembly work; Rep. Gr.68.
–  Remove the pedal mounting protection → Body - interior assembly work; Rep. Gr.70.
–  Remove any electrical cables that interfere from their brackets.
  Note!
Do not remove the connectors from the electrical cables nor dismount the relays.

–  Remove the pedal mounting protection -arrows 1- and -2-.

–  Unhook the clutch cable from the clutch pedal -arrow-.

–  Take the clutch cable out of the pins -arrows- and remove it.
