Check 3rd / 4th gear synchroniser ring for wear > < Dismantling
Assembling
Assembling
–  Check wear on synchromesh rings of 3rd and 4th gears → Chapter.
–  Insert the following components onto the input shaft:
10  - Needle bearing for 3rd gear
9  - 3rd speed selector gear
8  - Syncromesh ring 3rd gear
7  - Locking collar with synchronising hub for 3rd and 4th gear
  Note
Disassembly and assembly of the 3rd and 4th gear mobile sleeve and synchromesh unit → Chapter.
–  Note the installation position of the synchromesh unit of 3rd and 4th gear.
   
l  The groove on the front part -arrow- or even the lowest support collar points to the 4th gear.
  A35-0025
–  Insert the 3rd and 4th gear mobile sleeve and synchromesh assembly and the needle bearing sleeve for the 4th gear.
–  Determining the correct securing ring → Anchor.
  E35-0140
–  Insert the following components onto the input shaft:
6  - Synchroniser ring for 4th gear
4  - Needle bearing for 4th gear
3  - 4th speed selector gear
2  - Thrust washer
  Note
Leave out further positions.
  A35-0059
–  Insert the inner ring -A- of the cylindrical roller bearing → Item.
  E35-0130
–  Insert a securing ring -A- of 2.0 mm in thickness in the groove of the input shaft and press upwards -arrow-.
–  Using a thickness gauge -C-, measure the distance between the inner ring -B- and the fitted securing ring -A-.
–  Remove the securing ring fitted for the measurement.
–  Determine and fit a securing ring according to the table.

–  Install the input shaft and output shaft in the gearbox casing → Chapter.
