Release bolts -arrows- and remove battery mounting.

Release the two bolts from the water box panel -arrows- and remove panel.

Remove inspection cover on plenum chamber -arrows- left-hand side.
Note
When performing the following operations, care must be taken not to spill brake fluid onto the side member or gearbox. If fluid comes into contact with them, the affected area must be thoroughly cleaned.

Choke the supply hose going to the master cylinder with the pressure tool -U-30042 -.

Disconnect the input hose from the master cylinder -3-.

Unclip and detach clutch pedal position sender -G476- from master cylinder -arrow-. Electrical connector -4- can remain connected.

-Items 1 and 2- can be disregarded.

Removing the pipe and hose assembly in the clutch master cylinder → Fig.
Note
When carrying out work on the foot well compartment, the carpet must be protected from brake fluid spillage with cloths.

Move the driver's seat backwards (manually or electrically).
Position the fuse box -2- so that we can have access in order to remove the clutch pedal end of travel mounting.

By the plenum chamber side, partly remove foam rubber in order to extract the bolt securing the clutch pedal end of travel mounting to the instrument panel mounting.

From the vehicle interior, remove the clutch pedal end of travel mounting, by tilting backwards and pulling the mounting downwards -arrow-.
The crash bar -1- in front of clutch pedal -2- may be secured in different ways.
Attachment with 2 bolts

Unbolt crash bar (2 bolts).
Attachment with 1 bolt
–
Remove crash bar -1- (1 bolt -2-).
If fitted, remove damping -arrow- from lower area of clutch pedal mounting bracket.
