Removal:
Removal:
–  Disconnect the battery earth strap.
  Note
Observe the safety measures to be adopted when disconnecting the battery → Electrical system; Rep. gr. 27
–  Remove engine cover → Booklet2.
–  Remove the air filter body, breather hose and air duct hoses → Rep. gr.24 and → Rep. gr.23 .
   
–  Remove the battery → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27 .
–  Remove battery tray -arrows- and remove from vehicle.

–  Remove the safety washer -arrow 1- that secures the connector cable to selector rod -A-.
–  Remove the connector cable from the pivot
–  Remove relay lever → Chapter
–  Remove the gear selection rod -A-. To do so the nut-arrow 4- must be unscrewed.
  Note
Disregard: Item -2 & 3-

–  Remove cable support bracket from gearbox -arrows-.
–  Tie up the connection and selection cables.

–  Remove the pipe and hose assembly -A- from the gearbox support -B-.
–  Dismount clutch slave cylinder -arrows- and set to one side. Secure with wire and do not open the conduit system.
  Note
Do not depress clutch pedal.
–  Remove upper engine/gearbox connecting bolts.

–  Disassemble the connectors -1- of the starter motor, and the reverse gear light switch -4-.
–  Remove the cable -2- and the earth cable -3- of starter motor.
–  Move hoses clear.
–  Unscrew top securing bolt on starter motor.
–  Next, separate the hoses and cables that may be in the area of the engine where the rings that grip the support -U-30025E - go.
For vehicles with start stop system
  A27-0204
–  Unplug the connector -arrow- from the gearbox neutral position sender -G701 -.
Continuation for all vehicles
  N34-11273
–  Place support -U-30025E- on body profile.
l  When using the holder -U-30025E - pay attention so that the supporting feet remain firmly attached to the profile of the wing and the tool rod. Look in the middle of the gear without damaging the body.
–  Place eyes onto spindle hooks.
–  Pretension the engine with both spindles equally, do not lift.
–  Remove front left wheel.

–  Remove bolts -1- and - 2- and remove central soundproofing panel.
–  Remove the left wheelhouse liner → Bodywork, exterior installation work; Rep. gr. 66 .

–  Unscrew nut -arrow- and remove support for cables from threaded bolt.
–  Remove the starter motor by extracting the lower bolt.

–  Unscrew support for exhaust system -arrows- and remove the exhaust system at the flange.

–  Depending on the version, unplug the connector -1- from the oil level and oil temperature sender -G266 -.
–  Unbolt left and right drive shafts from the gearbox flange → Running gear, shafts, steering; Rep. gr.42 .
–  Fasten the drive shafts of the flanged shafts as high up as possible without damaging the surfaces.

–  Remove the bolt -A- fastening the engine to the gearbox located above the right flanged shaft.

–  Remove the pendulum support by removing the bolts -arrows A, B- and -C-.

–  Remove the bolts -arrows 1- for securing the left-hand side of the engine mount from the gearbox support.
–  Tilt the engine mount by lowering it onto the support -U-30025E- spindles .
  Note
On lowering the gearbox, handle any cables and pipes with care.
–  Remove the gear console. Screw out bolts -arrows 2-.
  Note
This is shown in the figure with the gearbox removed.

–  Take out the thermal protection plate and secure the tool -T20185 -.
–  Insert the counterhold -T20111- between the counterhold -T20185- and the engine. Operate the nut on the engine tool -T20111- and separate the drive train from the subframe.
–  Affix the gear holder -T20138C- on the support - T20145 - and this in turn on the engine / gearbox lifter -SAT 1040-
–  Fix the gearbox support -T20138C- to gearbox -arrows-

–  Remove the bolt joining the engine to the gearbox-arrow-.

–  Remove the bolts joining the engine to the gearbox -arrows- in the region of the engine oil sump (the bolts should remain in the engine).
–  Release gearbox from the adjustment sleeves.
–  Take care with the engine intermediate plate.
–  Swing gearbox forwards on adjustment spindle.
–  Turn the gearbox upwards in the region of the differential with the spindles of the gearbox support -T20138C -.

–  Turn gearbox downwards in vicinity of 6th gear cover as shown -arrow 1-.
–  Make sure that the bolts joining the engine to the gearbox -arrows 2- are in contact with the exhaust system.

–  Then, make the gearbox pass with the right flanged shaft next to the flywheel / intermediate plate, as shown in the figure -arrow 2-.
–  Lower the gearbox taking care not to damage the support bridge for the mechanics -arrow 1-.
–  On lowering it, modify the position of the gearbox using the spindles of the gearbox support unit -3282-.
  Note
On lowering the gearbox, handle any cables and pipes with care.
