Determining shim -A- thickness l  Gearbox housing must be turned in assembly stand with input gear downwards for the measuring procedure, as shown in → Chapter. Shim thickness is determined by gap “x” and selected from table, → .    x = k + l 2 - m A -  Shim x -  Gap l -  Position of piston in freewheel m -  Height of disc pack including pressure plate k -  Constant value = 30.6 mm “k” is determined by installation height in gearbox housing and is not adjustable. Calculating I:

–  Press piston in direction of arrow as far as stop. –  Place straight edge “A” onto outer race of freewheel. –  Measure to inner edge of piston with depth gauge“B”. Example:

Measured value	=	51.8 mm
- Straight edge	=	- 48.2 mm
Calculated value l	=	3.6 mm

Calculating m:

–  Place straight edge “A” on thrust plate. –  Compress disc pack including thrust plate in direction of arrow and measure the thickness of disc pack with depth gauge “B”. Example:

Measured value	=	77.2 mm
- Straight edge	=	- 48.2 mm
Calculated value m	=	29.0 mm

Gap x = k + l 2 - m = 30.6 + 3,6 2 - 29.0 = 3.4 mm –  Determine size of shims according to table: Table of shims

–  Ascertain thickness of shim according to table and determine part no. from parts catalogue. –  After determining shim for -B1- carry out check measurement. Reverse gear brake -B1- check measurement –  Install parts up to freewheel and secure with circlip → Chapter „Assembling planetary gearbox“.

–  Measure play between discs with feeler gauge “A”. Play: min. = 1.25 mm max. = 1.55 mm
