Installing > < Renewing seal for propshaft flange on removed rear final drive

First counterhold -3145- must be modified:
–  Drill out both holes to dimension “a” = 10.5 mm Ø.
  Note!
A new counterhold -3145- with larger holes will be available.
  N34-0672
–  Secure bracket -T10131- to support plate -VW 309-.
–  Set rear final drive on support plate -T10131- and screw in bolts -arrows A-.
–  Screw in bolt -arrow B- (M 12 with 1.5 mm pitch, about 30 mm long) from beneath.
–  Place drip tray -V.A.G 1306- underneath.

–  Remove propshaft flange hexagon nut.
A - Hexagon bolts M 10 x 20
B - Torque wrench
–  Pull off propshaft flange.
–  If this is difficult, use three arm puller -Kukko 45-2--A-.

–  Pull out seal using oil seal extractor lever -VW 681-.
