Selector lever adjustment: check > < Gear change mechanism: adjustment

Adjusting
–  Remove the central console cover → Rep. Gr.68.
   
–  Turn back cover upwards, over knob.
–  The gear engagement lever in neutral, move to the left to the engagement track for the 1st/2nd gear.
–  Slightly move noise insulation to one side.

–  Secure the gear lever with the retention tool -T10027-.
–  Remove engine cover → Booklet2.
–  Remove the air filter housing, the air hose and the air conduit hoses → Rep. Gr.24 and → Rep. Gr.23.

–  Release the cable securing element -A- for the gear engagement and selection cables -B- as follows:
–  Press moveable sleeve forwards as far as it will go -arrow 1-.
–  Turn moveable sleeve to the right as far as it will go -arrow 2- until it fits into place.
  Note
The control cable -B- must be able to move in its securing element.
l  The gearbox in “neutral” position.
Immobilise the gear selection shaft as follows:

–  Move the gear selection shaft -1-, in the -direction of arrow A-, until it is in the track for 1st/2nd gear, at the same time, rotate and move the locking pin -2- in the -direction of arrow B-, thus locking the gear selection shaft.
The gear selection shaft will then remain immobilised and you will not be able to move it.

–  Ensure that the selection and gear control cables -B- are well secured and without tension in the securing element -A-.
–  Slacken moveable sleeve -arrow 1-.
–  Slide the moveable sleeve to the limit -arrow 2-.
The control cable is now adjusted.
–  Extract the locking pin from the gearbox in order to release the gear control mechanism.
–  Remove the retention tool -T10027- from the gear mechanism.
–  Gear lever knob, checking the adjustment → Chapter.
–  Fit the gear lever cover → Chapter.
