t  It is not necessary to dismantle the gearbox prong unit ( → Item) to remove and assemble the gearbox selector rods, the fastening washers and the ball bearings.

1 - 5th / 6th gear selector segment
q   Identification → Fig.
q   Detent segment should still turn freely after the securing plate is installed.
2 - Securing washer
q   Always replace
q   Removing → Fig.
q   Installing → Fig.
3 - Selector fork for 5th / 6th gears
4 - Bolt, 25 Nm
5 - 5th/6th gear selector jaw
6 - Angular contact ball bearing
q   4x
q   Removing → Fig.
q   Installing → Fig.
7 - Gearbox prong unit with strips
q   With selector strip for the gear selection mechanism of the reverse gear -arrow-
8 - 1st / 2nd gear selector segment
q   Identification → Fig.
q   Detent segment should still turn freely after the securing plate is installed.
9 - 3rd / 4th gear selector segment
q   Identification → Fig.
q   Detent segment should still turn freely after the securing plate is installed.
