Mechatronic unit for the semi-automatic gearbox -J743 -: Install   Caution Never lift the mechatronic control unit by the sensor arm nor lean the unit on the arm.

If the arm is damaged, the mechatronic control unit must be replaced.

–  Before assembly make sure that the gearbox input speed sender -G182- and the clutch temperature sender -G509 - are mounted.

–  Replace the two -O-rings- of the connection if the mechatronic control unit is to be reassembled. –  Lubricate the O-rings with gearbox oil for DSG dual clutch.

–  Carefully place the mechatronic control unit on the pins -arrow-. Make sure that the »sensor arm« is in -its assembly position-. –  Do not pinch wiring. Take care not to trap the cable.

The 10 -fastening bolts- should be replaced. –  First tighten all the -fastening bolts-»by hand«. –  Then tighten the 10 -bolts- in diagonal pairs to a torque of 5 Nm and retighten 90° in the same order. Start with bolt -1-.

–  First insert the cable of the gearbox intake speed sender -G182- and the clutch temperature sender -G509- in fastener -II-. Then in fastener -I-. –  Insert connector in the mechatronic control unit. Always replace the »small« cover on the oil pump and the bolts on the »large« cover.

Likewise, -seal- of »large«-cover- must be renewed. –  Tighten the screws cross-wise to 10 Nm. After installing gearbox –  Fill with gear oil without replacing the filter → Chapter. –  Make the basic adjustment using the central diagnosis -VAS 505X-.
