Installing
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. During this step, observe the following:
When installing the torque converter, ensure that both drive pins engage in the ATF pump inner gear recesses.
–  All threaded holes into which self-locking bolts are to be screwed must be cleaned of residual locking fluid using a thread chaser.
–  Always renew self-locking bolts and nuts.
–  Before installing, ensure that dowel sleeves are correctly located.
–  Check mounting bush for starter for wear before installing and renew if necessary → Item.
–  Remove left bracket from left gearbox mounting before lifting engine/gearbox unit.
   
–  First tighten bolts -arrows- of left bracket onto gearbox to specified torque.

–  Guide support past speedometer sender -3- when installing.
–  Fit support -2- onto engine/gearbox.
–  Tighten bolts -arrows B to D- in ascending order until finger-tight initially, then to the specified torque.

Bolt -arrow B-45 Nm
Bolt -arrow C-20 Nm
Bolt -arrows D- (qty. 4)45 Nm

–  Insert right flange shaft -1- and tighten bolts -arrows A- firmly → Item.
–  Check selector lever cable adjustment and adjust if necessary → Chapter.
–  Finally, check ATF level and top up → Chapter.
–  Code radio → Radio, telephone, navigation; Rep. Gr.27.
–  Initialise electric windows and set clock → Booklet10.1.
–  Perform self-diagnosis and make the basic setting → Automatic gearbox 099 - 4-speed; Rep. Gr.01.
