Installing
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal.
When installing the torque converter, ensure that both drive pins engage in the ATF pump inner gear recesses.
–  All threaded holes into which self-locking bolts are to be screwed must be cleaned of residual locking fluid using a thread chaser.
–  Always renew self-locking bolts and nuts.
–  Before installing, ensure that dowel sleeves are correctly located.
–  Check mounting bush for starter for wear before installing and renew if necessary → Item.
   
–  Before lifting engine/gearbox unit, remove screws of left gearbox mounting -arrows- again.

–  First tighten bolts -arrows- of top mounting on gearbox to specified torque.

Pendulum support to gearbox
There are 2 bolts -A- with different lengths

Torque settings:
a - 78 mm = 70 Nm
b - 88 mm = 60 Nm + 90° turn further
–  Always renew 88 mm long bolt.
Same version must be reinstalled.
Install long version of bolt -A- if pendulum support is renewed.
–  Check selector lever cable adjustment and adjust if necessary → Chapter.
–  Check all electrical connections; cover/seal must prevent ingress of moisture (visual check).
–  Code radio → Radio, telephone, navigation; Rep. Gr.27.
–  Initialise electric windows and set clock → Booklet10.1.
–  Perform self-diagnosis and make the basic setting → Automatic gearbox 099 - 4-speed; Rep. Gr.01.
