Installing
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal; when doing this, note the following:
–
Place selector mechanism into holder of tunnel.
–
Connect connector
-arrow 3-
of selector mechanism.
–
Press selector lever cable lock
-arrows 2-
together and push selector lever cable into support bracket of selector mechanism onto stop.
Selector lever cable lock must engage in support bracket.

Screw in bolt
-arrow 1-
of selector lever cable until finger-tight.
–
Hook locking cable on selector mechanism into locking lever
→ Chapter

–
Screw selector mechanism tightly onto tunnel using new nuts

–
Install front and middle heat shield above exhaust pipe.
–
Install catalytic converter if it was removed
→ Rep. Gr.26

–
Adjust locking cable
→ Chapter
.
–
Adjust selector lever cable
→ Chapter
.
–
Install centre console
→ General body repairs, interior; Rep. Gr.68
.
–
Press frame
-arrows-
with cover and printed circuit board into selector mechanism.
–
Connect connector
-1-
of printed circuit board.
–
Install centre console trim
→ General body repairs, interior; Rep. Gr.68
.
–
Install selector lever handle
→ Chapter
.
–
Reconnect earth strap to battery.
–
Code radio
→ Radio, telephone, navigation; Rep. Gr.91

–
Initialise electric windows and set clock
