Tailgate Exeo ST 2009: adjustment Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Torque wrench kit -SAT 8010-

t  Adjustment gauges -3371-   Note Gas struts must be fitted before adjusting new rear lid. –  Remove the rear cross panel trim → Rep. gr.70.

–  Loosen the combination nuts -1- allow the check split pin -2- to move.   Note Ensure correct installation position when fitting striker plate (lug -arrow- must face rear).

–  Unclip cover -1- at adjusting buffer of tailgate. –  Bring the adjuster-2- in position.„1“

–  Tighten the screws -1- with hand. –  Now close the tailgate. –  Apply pressure to the tailgate manually in such a way that it is pressed by about 2 mm towards the bodywork. –  Open rear lid in this position and tighten nuts -1- to 21 Nm. –  Check that rear lid closes easily and without play at lock. Repeat adjustment if necessary. –  By pressure on the lateral edge of the tailgate below the rear window verify that the tailgate is free from play.

–  If necessary, pre-tension adjusting buffers by turning adjusting screw -2- clockwise. –  Check whether the rear flap can be closed Repeat adjustment if necessary. –  Check the window glass clearances → Chapter.   Note t  The luggage compartment lid is adjusted correctly, when all gap dimensions are equal when closing, it does not extend toward the inside or outside and the contour is absolutely flush → Chapter. t  Before closing the tailgate, check that the unlocking components are operating.
