Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Torque wrench kit -SAT 8010-
t  Kit (case) -T20017A-
t  Tray -T20173-
t  Lever -U 30800-

t  Remove the front bumper trim → Anchor
t  Install the front bumper trim → Anchor
Remove the front bumper trim
  Note
The wheel housing liners must not be removed for the removal of the front bumper trim.
–  Open bonnet at front and hold in open position.
   
–  Remove the screws -1- for securing the upper part of the bumper trim -2-.

–  Remove the screws -arrows- for fixing the front wheel housing to the bumper trim.
  Note
If necessary, screw out another fixing screw of the wheel housing liner to make the following procedures easier.

–  Using the lever -U 30800-, push the front wheel housing -1- aside so that you can access the top screw -arrow- of the bumper trim.

–  Remove bolts -1-.

–  Remove the bumper trim. For this purpose, clip out the corners -arrow- and then push them forwards partially for accessing the plug to be removed.

–  Disconnect the connectors of the fog lamps -arrow-.

–  Disconnect the connector of the parking aid sender -arrow-.

–  Place the drip tray -T20173- under the washer fluid reservoir.
–  Remove the clip from the headlight washer system.

–  Seal the motor of the headlamp washer system -1- using the plug from the kit (case) -T20017A-.
–  Remove the trim of the bumper completely.
  Note
Always use a suitable material (e.g. Polyurethane mats) to protect the contact surface of the bumper trim.
–  Place the bumper trim in a safe location.
Install the front bumper trim
Installation is done in reverse order of the removal operations; note the following:
Tightening torques
  E63-10145
Fixing screws of the bumper trim2.0 Nm

–  Setting the fog lights (when fitted) → Electrical system; Rep. gr.94
  Note
t  Check the correct installation position of the front bumper trim: its correct position must be horizontal and parallel to the ground.
t  Before closing front bonnet check the working of the Bowden cable lever.
