| Carry out following work: |
| – | If fitted, remove window crank → Chapter. |
| – | Remove front door trim → General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.70. |
| – | Remove cover → Chapter. |
| – | Remove lock cylinder cover cap → Chapter and lock cylinder → Chapter on driver side. |
| – | Remove cover cap on front passenger side → Chapter. |
| – | Remove door handle → Chapter. |
| – | Unscrew bolt -4- and remove base -3-. |
| – | Remove door handle bracket -1- from front door -arrow d-. |
| Detach cable |
| – | Release holding device -5- and swivel it out of mounting in door handle bracket -arrow a-. |
| – | Lift cable bolt out of mounting -arrow b-. |
| – | Take cable -2- out of mounting bracket -1--arrow c-. |

| Carry out following work: |
| Install in reverse order of removal. When doing this, observe the following: |
| Specified torque for bolt -4-: 1.5 Nm. |
