  WARNING
Disconnect battery earth strap before working on the electrical system.
  Note
t  Before disconnecting the battery, check the anti-theft coding on radios with this feature.
t  When the battery is reconnected, check the vehicle equipment (radio, clock, window risers), following the indications in the Workshop Manual and/or the Operating Instructions.
   
–  Remove all the accessories from the central console → Chapter.
–  Remove the handle from the handbrake lever → Chapter .
–  Extract the bolts -2- from the clips -1-.
–  Lift the central console upwards and out -3-, passing it over the gearstick.
