  Note
t  Before working with the airbag system, always read the safety precautions → Chapter.
t  Before disconnecting the connectors, mark them to avoid confusion when refitting.
t  Before working on the electrical system, disconnect the battery earth strap.
t  After connecting the battery, check the vehicle equipment (radio, clock, electric windows, etc.) according to the instructions in the Repair Manual and / or the Operating Instructions.
–  Turn off the ignition and all electricity consumers.
–  Disconnect the vehicle battery → Starter motor, voltage supply; Rep. gr.27.
–  Remove the front seat → Chapter.
   
–  Clamp the seat in the bracket for the seat repair -T20172/5-.
–  Remove the front seat back → Chapter.

–  Clamp the backrest in the bracket for the seat repair -T20172/5-.

–  Remove the front seat back upholstery and padding → Chapter.
–  Unscrew the bolt -2-.
–  Disconnect the side impact airbag connector -1-.
–  Remove the side impact airbag -3- from the housing on the seat back frame.
