  WARNING
t  Disconnect battery earth strap before working on the electrical system.
t  Before coming into contact with the airbag unit, the mechanic should eliminate any electrostatic charge accumulated by touching a metal object connected to earth (e.g. a drainpipe, heating pipe or a metal support)
  Note
t  Before working with the airbag system, always read the safety precautions → Chapter.
t  Pay attention to coding (obtain as necessary) for vehicles with coded radio/radio navigation system (RNS).
–  With ignition switched off, disconnect earth connection from battery.
–  Remove the front seat → Chapter.
Depending on version:
–  Remove the skirt moulding for 4-door vehicles → Chapter.
–  Remove the skirt moulding for 2-door vehicles → Chapter.
–  Pull mat off to one side -4-.
–  Disconnect the connector -2- and remove the bolts -3-.
–  Remove the side airbag impact sensor -1-.
