The plastic covered fittings will show slight parallel grooves after the seat belts have been subject to load (accident with the seat belt fastened). (Wear as a result of frequent use can be distinguished as the marks are smooth and without lines).
–  Check for twisting, damage and crack formation on the plastic.
t  If there is scoring and/or damage, replace the complete seat belt along with the buckle.
