  Note
t  Before working with the airbag system, always read the safety precautions → Chapter.
t  Pay attention to coding (obtain as necessary) for vehicles with coded radio/radio navigation system (RNS).
t  When removing and fitting the seats use gloves to avoid soiling the upholstery.
–  With ignition switched off, disconnect earth connection from battery.
–  Remove the front seat → Chapter.
  Note
The side airbag adapt. -VAS 5232- should be always connected in the dismounting procedure.
   
–  Position the rear seat in the seat bracket -T20172/5-.

–  Remove the front seat back → Chapter.
–  Loosen from both sides of the cushion frame the retaining clip -1-.
–  Remove the upholstery strip -2- all the way around the seat frame -arrows-.

   
–  Separate the seat armrest -3- the padded unit -1- and the seat upholstery -2-.
–  Lift the upholstery-2- until the padding wires and clips are visible.

   
To remove the upholstery -2- from the padding -1-, remove the wires -3- using the pressure tool -T20069-, and proceed as follows:

–  Unhook the padding wires at the fastening points -arrows-.
–  Unclip the clips -1- of the padding

–  Finish detaching the upholstery -2- from the padding -1-.
