Protective guide for tailgate gas damper, removal
   
Protective guide for tailgate gas damper, removal
–  Separate the luggage compartment trim on the side → Chapter.
–  Remove bolts -3-.

   
Gas damper: removing
–  Support tailgate.
–  Lift the security tab -2- with the help of a lever -U 30800- and remove the pressure spring from the spherical heads.
  Note
t  From chassis no.. 5P5 5R 097 607► there are vehicles that are fitted with a washer -4-. For the removal, remove the upper bolt -1-. Tightening torque: 14 Nm.
t  If the gas pressure spring is re-used, the security tab -2- must not be removed completely from the ball joint, because the security tab may be damaged.
–  Separate the trim → Item using the lever -U 30800- from the protective guide → Item.
