  Note
The removal and installation procedures may have to be modified slightly depending on equipment variants.
The lock carrier service position is intended to improve access to the engine compartment.
–  Remove front bumper cover → Chapter.
–  Remove noise insulation → Chapter.
–  Unhook Bowden cable -3- from lock.
–  Remove windscreen wiper reservoir -4- and fuse holder -5- from lock carrier -1-.
–  Unscrew one bolt -6- (specified torque = 30 Nm) from each from the longitudinal members. Use the special tool -T 10093- which is to be screwed into left and right longitudinal members.
–  Remove bolts -2- (specified torque = 8 Nm) and -6- (specified torque = 30 Nm) and pull lock carrier -1- forwards at guide pins -T 10093- in -direction of arrow-.
