–  Underpin the rear bonnet.
–  Lift the securing clamp -2- using a screwdriver and release the damper from the ball joint -1- .
  Note
If the gas damper is to be reused, do not prise the safety spring -2- out completely from its seating in the bowl, to avoid damaging the safety spring.
