Safety precautions when working on the airbag system
l  Testing, assembly and repair work should only be carried out by specialised personnel
l  When working on the Airbag system, the battery earth cable must be removed. After disconnecting the battery, work can be recommenced immediately When connecting the airbag to a power supply nobody should be inside the vehicle
l  The airbag units should be fitted as soon as they are removed from their packing box
l  If work has to be stopped, the airbag unit should be replaced in its box again
l  The airbag unit must not be left lying around unsupervised
l  Dismantled airbag units should be kept with their padded surface facing upwards
l  Airbag units that have fallen on a hard surface or show signs of damage cannot be refitted
l  Storage and transportation should be made in accordance with the regulations concerning explosive material
l  Only use original upholstering fabric certified for side impact airbags (indicated on the airbag)
l  On fitting the seat back upholstery, make sure that the seam in the side airbag area is straight
l  All the upholstery staples must be replaced
l  Only use original uphostery staples
l  If the fabric in the side impact airbag area is damaged (torn, burnt, etc.), the upholstery should be replaced for greater safety
