Special tools and workshop equipment required

Operation process
l  Gearbox is removed.
–  Remove bolt -B- and lift off selector shaft lever -A-.
–  Carefully lever out selector shaft oil seal (located below) using a screwdriver.
  Note
Ensure that sealing surface and selector shaft are not damaged.
–  Lubricate outer circumference of new oil seal with ATF.
–  Push new oil seal onto selector shaft and press in.
–  Drive in oil seal with tube -VW 418 A- as far as the stop.
–  Fit selector shaft lever -A- onto selector shaft and tighten bolt -B-.
