Removing

Vehicles without air conditioner

  • ‒ Drain coolant
  • ‒ Pull coolant hoses off radiator.
  • ‒ Pull connectors off thermo-switch and radiator fan.
  • ‒ Remove reinforcement strut.
  • ‒ Remove radiator securing bolts.
  • ‒ Remove radiator downwards.

Vehicles with air conditioner

  • ‒ Remove ribbed belt => Page 13-16.
  • ‒ Removing air conditioner compressor:

=> Heating, Air conditioning; Repair group 87; removing and installing compressor bracket

Warning!
The air conditioning system refrigerant circuit must not be opened.

Note:

To prevent damage to condenser and also to the refrigerant lines/hoses, ensure that the pipes and hoses are not stretched, kinked or bent.

  • ‒ Remove retaining clamp(s) from refrigerant pipes.
  • ‒ Remove radiator grille with frame:

=> General body repairs; Repair group 66; Trims; Removing and installing radiator grille with frame

  • ‒ Remove radiator securing bolts.
  • ‒ Remove condenser from radiator.
  • ‒ Remove radiator downwards.
  • ‒ Secure condenser to body so that refrigerant pipes/hoses are not stressed.

Installing

Installation is carried out in the reverse order, when doing this note the following:

  • ‒ Filling with coolant => Page 19-10
  • ‒ Electrical connections and routing:

=> Electrical system; Repair group 97

Vehicles with air conditioner

  • ‒ Installing air conditioner compressor:

=> Heating, Air conditioning; Repair group 87; removing and installing compressor bracket

  • ‒ Installing radiator grille with frame:

=> General body repairs; Repair group 66; Trims; Removing and installing radiator grille with frame
