Checking the operation of the Servomotor for the fresh air / air recirculation flap V154 and the fresh air / air recirculation > < Removing
Installing
Installing
  Note!

t  The servomotor is supplied as a spare part in the “fresh air option” position. Only when cogwheel -A- is at the maximum -B-, is it possible to fit it onto the cogwheel of the fresh air/air recirculation flap. If a servomotor has been removed in a different position or has been activated during removal, it will not be possible to reassemble.
t  If the cogwheel -A- of the servo motor is not at the limit -B-“fresh air option”, proceed as follows:
t  Connect the servo motor to the cable harness of the vehicle.
t  Turn the ignition on (the Heating control unit -J65- activates the servomotor so that it moves into the position “fresh air option limit”.
t  Wait until the cogwheel -A- of the servo motor reaches the limit -B-“fresh air option”.
t  Switch off the ignition.
–  Switch off the ignition.
–  Connect the servo motor to the cable harness of the vehicle.
  A87-0694
–  Insert a hand into the air inlet opening for the air recirculation and move the fresh air / air recirculation flap -A- into the position “fresh air option” (the opening for the air recirculation option is closed).
–  Fit the servo motor -B- in the opposition direction to the arrow on the allotments -C- and onto the cogwheel -D-.
  A80-0252
–  In order to move the cogwheel on the servo motor -A- onto the cogwheel of the fresh air / air recirculation flap, the curved teeth -C- of the servo motor cogwheel must coincide with space between the teeth -D- of the cogwheel on the air retention flap axle -D-.
–  Lay wiring harness so that it cannot come into contact with moving components (e.g. control motor lever).
  A87-0695
–  Fit the support -A-, taking into account that the support guide -D- is fitted correctly into the allotment in the air inlet opening -E- and that the support correctly inserts into both slots -B- and -C-.
–  Test the servo motor, the support -A- must hold it in position; if there is some play then eliminate it by applying some spongy material to the interior of the attachment points -F- of the support -A-
  Note!
t  The position of the servo motor (and the flap) is not visible when the glove compartment is fitted, for this reason, the operation of the servo motor must be tested before fitting the glove compartment → Chapter.
t  If both cogwheels are not fitted in the correct position, the fresh air / air recirculation flap will not reach the two final positions or the servo motor will function in an irregular manner and may jam.
–  Switch ignition on:
–  Check the operation of the Servomotor for the fresh air / air recirculation flap -V154- and the activation by the Heating control unit -J65- → Chapter.
  A80-0253
–  Activate the servo motor until the cogwheel -D- is at the limit of the “fresh air option” or at the limit of “air recirculation option” and check the position of the fresh air / air recirculation flap -A-; this should be open (air recirculation option) or closed (fresh air option).
Re-install all components in reverse order of removal operations.
