Removing and fitting fresh air blower control unitJ126
Removing and fitting fresh air blower control unit -J126-

  Note
t  The fresh air blower control unit -J126- can only be renewed as a separate unit in the version in which the two components are not cast together (gradual introduction from model year 2007 onwards).
t  There are different spare parts for the fresh air blower control unit -J126-; note the correct assignation → Parts catalogue.
   
t  The fresh air blower control unit -V2- applies (with the ignition switched on and the fresh air blower -J126- actuated) „positive“ from contact „4“ of the connector -C- to contact „1“ of the connector -B-. The speed of the fresh air blower -V2- is controlled by the fresh air blower control unit -J126- via the earth connection between contact „2“ of connector -B- and contact „3“ of connector -C- → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations and by the Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 505X-.
Removal:
–  Remove the passenger side foot well cover according to the version of the model → Bodywork, interior fitting work; Rep. gr.68.
–  Remove glove compartment → Bodywork, interior fitting work; Rep. gr.68.

–  Unplug connectors -B- and -C-.
  WARNING
The heat sink at the fresh air blower control unit -J126- may be hot.
–  Remove bolt -A-.
–  Remove the fresh air blower control unit -J126--D- from its housing in the fresh air blower -V2-
Installation
Re-install all parts removed in reverse order; note the following:
  Note
t  When fitting, bear in mind that the fresh air blower control unit -J126--D- sits correctly in the housing of the fresh air blower -V2-.
t  After fitting, test operation of the fresh air blower control unit -J126- and the fresh air blower -V2-.
–  Consult the fault memory of the control and indication panel Climatronic control unit -J255- and erase the faults that appear. → Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 505X in "Guided fault finding" function.
–  Carry out the basic setting and diagnosis of the air conditioning actuators the consult the fault memory once again. → Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 505X in "Guided fault finding" function.
