Checking > < Refrigeration performance of the air conditioning: check
Test conditions:
Test conditions:
l  The ambient air temperature is above 15 °C.
l  The radiator and condenser are clean; clean if they are not.
l  The compressor Poly-V belt is in good condition and properly tensed.
l  All air flow ducts, protective covers, gaskets/seals are in good condition and correctly fitted.
l  The air flow through the dust and pollen filter is not affected by dirt.
l  The fresh air is taken in through the fresh air inlets in the engine compartment and in the interior.
l  The water drainage valves in the fresh air inlets in the engine compartment are in good condition.
l  The vehicle should not be in direct sunlight
l  The engine must be warm.
l  Consult the fault memory and erase it.
l  Perform the basic configuration.
l  All aerators on the dashboard are open.
l  The bonnet is closed.
l  Settings for the control and indication unit -E87-:
–  Operation mode “Auto”.
–  Temperature selection “LO”.
–  Compresser activated (the light on the “ECON” button lights up).
l  Functions with the engine is running:
–  The refrigerant liquid fan -V7- operates (at least at one speed).
–  The fresh air turbine -V2- is running at maximum speed.
–  The air recirculation/fresh air flap is in the position “Air recirculation” (approx. 1 minute after starting the engine, the fresh air turbine -V2- takes air from the footwell on the passenger side).

If any of these conditions are not fulfilled during the test, consult the fault memory and perform an actuator diagnostic → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051
